Director Mahesh Manjrekar has dished out the details of your next project with Sanjay Dutt, sharing the actor will be seen as a father in his early 40s.
The film, a remake of the 2008 film superhit Marathi De Dhakka, 57th birthday Dutt was annouced, July 30, Saturday.
“It will play a father 43 or 44 years old. A Punjabi man will be played but not a Sardar. We will test seems done with it. The film has elements of humor and he is good in comedy, it does better,” said Manjrekar PTI .
Dutt and 63-year-old filmmaker previously collaborated on such films as Vaastav, Kurukshetra and Rakjt.
Manufacturers are currently seeking out actress to play Dutt’s wife in the film.
“I have the names of some brilliant actresses (in the mind). We are in talks with some. For the role of the daughter and son, we usually have new faces,” Manjrekar said.
It is done under the banner of Sandeep Singh and Kumar Omung of, Legend Studios, the film by Marathi version, which promises to be a laugh riot mixed with the emotional journey of a family.
“The basic premise is the same. It’s a family film. It is realizing that’s what always matters the family. There will be elements of humor in the film. The film is in Himachal Pradesh. The trips are the backdrop film background, “Manjrekar said.
Meanwhile, the director feels the title De Dhakka is suitable for the new Hindi version, he said it is looking at other titles as well.
The film will go on floors this December or January next year and launch in July-August 2017.
